Oestrogen - Elevates mood, increased metabolism and increases the breakdown of fats as a source of fuel. Thyroxine - increases your metabolism and energy expenditure Adrenaline - Causes the breakdown of stored glucose and fat to be used for energy. Insulin - Causes glucose, amino acids and fats to be taken up by cells. This is reduced during exercise. Glucagon - Causes the breakdown of Glucose and Fats for energy. It is very easy to lose weight by weight lifting. If we incorporate free weights up to 3 times per week on a regular basis into our healthy lifestyles we can not only lose weight but prevent disease.
