Garlic Prawns Recipe

This mouth watering recipe for garlic prawns is a traditional Portuguese way of cooking grilled prawns with olive oil and garlic, after marinating in lemon juice and chilli flakes.

Grilled Garlic Prawns

Ingredients
1 kg large green prawns (cleaned and deveined)

1 tablespoon crushed garlic

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon red chilli powder

2 teaspoons coarse red chilli flakes

Juice of 1 lemon

8 tablespoons olive oil

Method
  1. In a large bowl, combine prawns with garlic, salt, chilli powder and lemon juice.
  2. Leave to marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Add olive oil to a large frying pan and add prawns
  4. Pan grill on high heat until prawns are bright red and cooked through for about 20 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with a side salad and crusty bread.
