Anaerobic Exercise Can Speed Up Fat LossAnaerobic exercise, or strength training is an excellent way to lose fat and sustain a healthy body weight. Strength training builds up muscle tissue which is the metabolic engine of the body. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn, even at resting state. Besides increased metabolism and weight loss, you also reap the benefits increased energy levels, hardened joints and increased bone strength. As we grow older, we lose lean muscle mass and all too often, this is replaced by fat. By starting a fitness program that includes weight training, you can preserve your muscle mass.
Your Weight Training ProgramStrength training with weights is one of the main ways to engage in muscle building exercise. You can either join a gym and use weight machines or use free weights at home. If you are a beginner, it may be safer to join a gym and receive some instruction and guidance on how to lift weights safely and effectively using proper techniques. Ideally, your fitness program should include at least 3 sessions a week on alternate days of 30 minutes of strength training.Exercise Tips
