80 pounds down, and still going!!

by Jenn
(southern cali)

Hi. I am a 31 year old housewife and mother of 3. I have been overweight most of my life. I met my husband when I was 15. I was 165 lbs. Over the next several years, I gained weight. 3 kids, one gall bladder operation, and a blood clot later I found myself 342 lbs. A doctor blamed my blood clot on my weight. I was in the hospital for 4 days, and I was told I could have died. That changed alot for me. But not enough, because I didn't change my life till a year and a half later. On October 19, 2009 we changed our lives. Since then I have lost 80 lbs. I still have so much to go, but I am part of the way there. Some days is easier than others, but I am very proud of myself. I cook healthier foods, snack less and no more fast food or take out. My kids have lost weight as well. I owe most of my success to Progresso Light chicken noodle soup, and ground chicken. I can't stand veggies or fish, so it's hard to eat too healthy. I have been told a healthy weight for me is 145-160, but I will keep going and see where I end up. I hardly snack anymore, no more movie popcorn, and we go to the gym. I lost 80 lbs in 4 and a half months. I will lose the rest of the weight in time. I just have to be strong and keep going. My loss is going slower now, about 2-3 lbs a week give or take. I am so upset with myself that I let it get so far out of control. Food just isn't worth your life or the life of the ones you love. Stop living to eat, and eat to live!!
